Alger, WA – Justin Youngquist has been up and down the I-5 corridor the past three weeks and ended this intense stretch of racing with a 6th place finish this weekend at the John Carroll Classic at Skagit Speedway. Youngquist will take this week off from racing in preparation for the Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup in two weeks at Skagit Speedway, but will have his car shined and primed to participate in the always popular Berry Derry Days parade in Burlington on Saturday morning.

After stopping the clocks at third fastest in time trials, Youngquist lined up fourth and quickly advanced to second in a highly entertaining contest. An eight invert would set Justin 5th on the grid, and that’s where the Dale Melin owned #56 XXX would run for the early part of the contest. Advancing to fourth by passing Jake Helsel, Youngquist closed on Colton Heath and Evan Margeson for third multiple times before fading a little late race and bringing home sixth on the very slick Skagit Speedway surface.
“We’ve been qualifying like a monster, and that’s a huge credit to my teams ability to give me a great car and the power that this Shark Racing Engine has been making. Marc (Huson) makes a fantastic power plant, and it’s helped us with better starting spots for the A Mains. We’re getting really close to putting together a special night, and hopefully that comes in two weeks at the biggest race in the Northwest,” said Justin.
