Youngquist to Run for Alberta's Melin Racing in 2016
After completing two full seasons under the Justin Youngquist Racing banner, Dale Melin and Melin Racing are pleased to announce that Justin Youngquist has been hired to pilot their 360 sprint car full time for the 2016 season.
"I'm really excited to get the 2016 season going," Youngquist said. "After talking with Dale and realizing that we have very similar goals and want to be at a lot of the same races, it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up."

Last season, Melin's number 22 machine made the trek to Skagit Speedway for the 44th annual Dirt Cup at the end of June and again for the Summer Nationals in July with Alberta native Sean MacDonell behind the wheel.
The team's plans for 2016 include running the full Summer Thunder Sprint Series schedule, traveling to Montana, and making their way to Edmonton's Castrol Raceway, the team's home track, for the Gold Cup. A full schedule will be released mid-February.
Most of the Justin Youngquist Racing crew will follow Justin to the new operation, as will the many marketing partners that the JYR team has built relationships with over the years. "This is something that I think will benefit everyone that is involved with us," said Youngquist. "All of our crew, sponsors, fans... I think there are a lot of good things that can come from this partnership."
Since Youngquist's career in sprint cars began in 2010, he has collected ten A-Feature wins including one win at Cottage Grove Speedway in Cottage Grove, Oregon. In 2011, Youngquist finished 2nd in overall Sportsman Sprint points standings at Skagit Speedway and again in 2014 finished 2nd in overall 360 Sprint Car points standings at Skagit Speedway.
Preparations are well underway for the Melin Racing team as they prepare for the Yakima Valley Sprint Car Challenge with the Summer Thunder Sprint Series on April 1 & 2 in Yakima, WA.
"This seems like it is going to be a great fit for myself and for our team," Justin said. "Dale is a great guy and I am really looking forward to running this season with him."
